Season 1, Episode 11 March 29, 1975 The Jeffersons' dear friends from Harlem arrive on the night that George has invited a snobbish prospective business partner. The Jeffersons and Willises are shocked when "expectant father" Lionel storms out of the apartment to pursue a boyhood dream. Lionel's mysterious actions make sense to no one except George -- who had spent a similar night of his own. "The Jeffersons", inspired by characters created on "All in the Family", have left 'Bunkerville' for midtown New York and their own series. The Jeffersons' new affluence is creating marital mayhem between Louise and George, especially when George insists Louise hire a maid to take care of their new Manhattan high-rise apartment. The Jeffersons have moved on up and are now enjoying living in their new high-rise apartment. Louise has made a new friend in Diane Stockwell, who is having a hard time believing that George made his way up the ladder without doing anything shady. However, bigger problems are brewing when George insists that Louise hire a maid but Louise is totally against the idea.
